Can I Tape Record the Insurer's Independent Medical Examination?

Audio and video recording of the insurerr's "independent medical examination" is your right under Vermont workers' compensation law. Vermont statute 21 VSA Section 655 guarantees the right to injured employees. "The employee may make a video or audio recording of any examination performed by the employer's physician ... ." The employer (insurer) is entitiled to audio record also, but the statute doesn't give the right to video record to the insurer. "The employer may make an audio recording of the examination."
