Can I choose my own doctor?
A: Yes. You have the right to choose the doctor(s) to help you recover from your work injury. The insurer must pay for medical expenses, as long as they are both "reasonable" and "related to" your work injury. The insurer cannot tell you to go to a different doctor. The only exception is that, at reasonable times and places, the insurer can require a so-called "Independent Medical Examination" with a doctor the insurer likes; however, that exam is not an exam for treatment.
